gmc again ...

I am getting a little bit frustrated as I am cruising through the docs of (g)mc and
trying to figure out how to define extentions.

Some are talking about a file $HOME/.mc.ext, some of $home/.mc/ext . Well, I tried both
but I just cannot change ANYTHING about the Open behaviour of the files. Tried regex, shell ...
Just plain nothing.

Then I went, as root, to change /usr/lib/mc/mc.ext : just the same. Nothing happens.

Is that supposed to work at all ?
