Problems installing Gnome..

Hi!

Just wondering if anyone can give me a hand here installing GNOME on my
system!

OS: Red Hat Linux 5.1, Linux Kernel 2.2.1
(It's a heavily upgraded 5.1 though)

Relevant Packages:
glibc-2.0.7-19
glib10-1.0.6-2
glibc-devel-2.0.7-19
glib-1.1.13-1
gtk+-1.1.13-1
gtk+10-1.0.6-2
gtk+-perl-0.2-4
gnome-core-0.99.3.2-2
gnome-libs-0.99.4-3
libxml-0.99-1
imlib-cfgeditor-1.9.2-1
imlib-1.9.2-1
ORBit-0.3.91-1
libghttp-0.99.2-1
libgtop-0.99.2-1

I cannot get gnome-media to install, they report:
failed dependencies:
        libgdk-1.1.so.11 is needed by gnome-media-0.99.1-1
        libglib-1.1.so.12 is needed by gnome-media-0.99.1-1
        libgmodule-1.1.so.12 is needed by gnome-media-0.99.1-1
        libgtk-1.1.so.11 is needed by gnome-media-0.99.1-1

The version I am trying to install is:
gnome-media-0.99.1-1.i386.rpm

This is the latest one I have been able to find.

When running panel I get:
[root@pc6161 peddlem]# panel
panel: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/lib/libglib-1.1.so.13: undefined symbol: __bzero
[root@pc6161 peddlem]#

The same applies to gnome-session.

Does anyone have any suggestions? What other versions do you need to know
if i've got? I've given the list above basically from the main list of
things that are needed but if there are other support libraries that
aren't specifically mentioned I won't have checked them yet....

Any help greatly appreciated, Gnome looks exceedingly cool and i'd love to
get it running :)

Thanks in advance!
Matthew Peddlesden.
