Great! Thanks Jacob. I couldn't see from the debugging that that part of
my user apps tree was causing the problem, although now I can see that
it is the only file in the debug info specifically referenced. This app
'aktion' is a kde video player
(http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Haven/3864/aktion.html#download)
which I installed via RPM a few months back. I must have moved it under
"/usr/share/gnome/apps" where it should have resided in
"/usr/share/apps" with the rest of the kde apps, since when I removed
the rpm, it couldn't find this part of the tree. Once aktion was
removed, gmenu worked fine.
