GNOME Core 1.0.55

Hi,

    I downloaded the gnome-core-1.0.55.tar.gz file from the address
listed in the e-mail announcing it's availability.  Gunzipped it,
untarred it using "tar xf" in my /home directory.  ( didn't know where
to put it)  I ran configure but it said it needed gnomeConf.sh in
/usr/local/libs   There is nothing in there right now.  Before this I
had October GNOME.
/.install-sh does not work.  I also ran mkinstalldirs and it seemed to
do ok.  Thanks,
