Check out ftp://ftp.falsehope.com/pub/xmms.  You want the xmms-gnome
package, which is the panel applet for xmms.  But why bother to panelize it?
If you use the shade option in xmms (i.e.: roll it up, dude), you end up
with a small strip onscreen which takes up minimal display area and still
displays appropriate details.

I'm sitting here listening to xmms and was wondering if there was a
panel applet that just plays mp3 files.   xmms is a nice program, but
I usually don't want to take up screen real estate when I'm hacking....
