Did you read the error message and follow its instructions?

yes read the errors from all the packages, no did not submit a bug report. i could attach the error message from the 10 or so apps i have tried to compile, they don't all tell me to submit bug reports, even though they all point out a compiler error.

The problem is in the compiler you are using, not GNOME.

i'm not disputing that my compiler is broken. i don't undeerstand, though, why the compile was working fine until a few days ago, and just stopped working when i did not upgrade/modify it or it's libraries. something that i installed has broken it, and the only LIBS i have installed are gnome ones, so i thought i would pursue that. somehow i doubt reinstalling my compiler will fix this (although i may try that just to eliminate that possibility) i just want to figure out what broke it so i can fix it (or else i will have to find a heel of a lot of packages in .i38.rpm format)
The time for action is past! Now is the time for senseless bickering!
could not have said it better myself ;-)
