Hello guys,
Jay Belanger has tracked down the problem we had with the
gnome-libs-1.0.14. So far, it seems every person reporting problems
with 1.0.14 was compiling its own RPM using the rpm -ta command (this
command pulls the .spec file from the tar file and compiles with it).
The problem is that the spec file on 1.0.14 included a FSSTND-ism
that set the sysconfdir to /etc. So applets stopped working because
the code would not find the .gnorba files.
The next version of the gnome libraries now understands the
GNOME_PATH environment variable which is a list of prefixes that the
system should look into for finding GNOME-related files (as well as a
GNOME_GNORBA_PATH that acts just as this but for CORBA files).
best wishes,
Miguel.
