RE: GPPP applet



I get the same problem with gppp.  I am able to use kppp from the KDE
desktop (heretic! :-) inside of GNOME without a hitch.  It doesn't interact
with my modem-lights applet, but I may have fixed that (haven't tested yet).

If nothing else, the help available with kppp may give you some tips on
setting permissions.
