[Clock Applet] 12 secs out?

Hi all,

I've just noticed something very odd. I did a 'date', and discovered that
the default gnome clock applet was around 12 seconds behind. It's just
gone into Saturday here and the update was 12 secs late.

Weird or what? Is this normal?
