Your kernel crashed - if the kernel crashes due to a user action, it's
always either broken hardware or a kernel bug. The kernel is not supposed
to crash; if users could crash the kernel, then all Linux's security
features would be useless.
You probably want to report the oops to your distribution vendor, unless
you're enough of a kernel hacker to do the report the way the kernel guys
like (see "How do I post an Oops?" in this FAQ: http://www.tux.org/lkml/).
Anyway, this isn't really a Gnome problem, so the list for your Linux
distribution or the Linux kernel list are your best resources.
