software updates

hey gang,

i just wanted to let you guys know that i used, yesterday, the mandrake
update package and it is sweet.  i'm not sure how they are doing it but
basically you click the 'update' icon and it gives you a list of mirrors.
after you choose a mirror it then goes out and checks to see what packages
need updating (according to that mirror) and then asks for your root
password.  once the user gives the root password the package downloads the
packages and installs them as well.  this is done seamlessly and is worth
looking into.

maybe this isn't the place for this, and i know i'm not a developer, but i
thought you might appreciate the info.
