The "swallowed apps" feature of the panel lets you contain any X11
program inside a panel applet spot, even if it wasn't written to work
with the GNOME panel.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work for me (It's on the bug list -
please help the hackers with stability by reporting any bugs you
see.)
