Tim,

I can only assume that your fstab is correct and you can mount devices
manually.  Perhaps you have an old GNOME package that isn't up to date?
Other than that, no suggestions - I'm no GNOME expert.

"Recreate Desktop Shortcuts" gives me these icons:  Linux Documents (URL),
GNOME Web Site (URL), Disk 0 and Disk 1 (my misbehaving ZIP drive), Floppy
0, and CD-ROM 0.
