annoying newbie questitions

In the session management thread (3/20/99) the problem was that SM, on start
up re-opened every everything I had opened in previous sessions back to the
dawn time. Pedro Corte-Real provided a work-around,

but I'd like to know if there's been a bug-fix.

I'm running redhat 5.2, vanilla, and trying to get a relatively stable
installation.

Any help at all would be most welcome.

PS. (OT) Is there an ftp site where I can find themes?
