GFTP errors... source package

This time I downloaded and compiled the source file. Running
"./configure" reported no errors.

When I run "gftp", it gives a similar, if not the same, error as before:

Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib/libgdk_imlib.so.1: undefined symbol:
__deregister_frame_info
[1]+  Segmentation fault      gftp

Does this program work for anyone ? Does it not like the version of
"imlib" that I have (version 1.9.4-1...from RPM) ? Do I need to create a
link from "libgdk_imlib.so.1" to "libgdk_imlib.so.1.9.4" ?
