gmc and viewing "dot files"

One small feature I would like to see in GMC is the ability to quickly
view dot files.  Because often, I don't want to permanently be able to
see them, just temporarily.  So perhaps a quick toggle switch or
something similar at the top of the menubar? 

I'm not sure if this is the right list for this issue, but I would also
like to see this ability in the GTK filerequester widget.
