not all programs work fine with --prefix=/opt/gnome (the ACLOCAL_FLAG is
soemtimes ignored). 

newest problem case : gnome-pilot/pilot-link : after installing pilot-link in
/opt/gnome, gnome-pilot doesn't compile out of the box : it doesn't find the
libararies in /opt/gnome/libs (pisock).
