hello everyone,
i've been trying to compile gnome for two days and have never succeeded. i
think it's time i ask for help.
i want to compile gnome on my redhat 5.0 (updated with patches; gcc -v
2.7.2.3) system. i have the following libraries installed already:
ImageMagick-4.0.5-4
ImageMagick-devel-4.0.5-4
libgr-2.0.13-10
libgr-devel-2.0.13-10
libgr-progs-2.0.13-10
libjpeg-6b-5
libjpeg-devel-6b-5
libpng-1.0.1-1
libpng-devel-1.0.1-1
libtiff-3.4-4
libtiff-devel-3.4-4
libungif-3.1.0-3
libungif-devel-3.1.0-3
libungif-progs-3.1.0-3
zlib-1.1.2-1
zlib-devel-1.1.2-1
Imlib-1.7-1
i've successfuly compiled and installed the following libraries:
ORBit-0.2.1-2
ORBit-devel-0.2.1-2
glib-1.1.2
glib-devel-1.1.2
gtk+-1.1.1-1
gtk+-devel-1.1.1-1
libgtop-0.25.0-1
libgtop-devel-0.25.0-1
gnome-libs-0.27-1
gnome-libs-devel-0.27-1
i got these error messages while compiling gnome-core-0.28.1-1:
batmon.c:416: warning: type mismatch with previous implicit
declaration
batmon.c:303: warning: previous implicit declaration of
`init_module'
batmon.c:416: warning: `init_module' was previously implicitly
declared to return `int'
batmon.c:416: warning: `init_module' was declared implicitly
`extern' and later `static'
batmon.c: In function `main':
batmon.c:303: conflicting types for `init_module'
batmon.c:416: previous declaration of `init_module'
make[3]: *** [batmon.o] Error 1
---more make errors snipped---
and compilation stops there. i've also tried compiling gnome-core-0.20 but
i also got errors while compiling the file "windows.c"
any clue? thanks!
