gnome menu editor adding /'s

Hi, I am a newbie just today,

when adding entries to the menu that I want to pass options - whenever
I put a space in the execute line it puts a d%@#   /

for example if I put in 'netscape -no-about-splash' it ends up with
'netscape/ -no-about-splash'
and it keeps adding them.  I have tried quote and double quote with no
results.  Anyone?
