Panel and ee problem

Hi,

I finally got around to installing the 0.27/0.28 GNOME rpms.  Most of the apps work fine, but the panel and ee won't start.  They give identical error messages (if ee is substituted for panel):

panel: can't resolve symbol 'GTK_TYPE_GDK_COLOR'
panel: can't resolve symbol 'GTK_TYPE_GDK_EVENT'
panel: can't resolve symbol 'gtk_marshal_NONE__NONE'
panel: can't resolve symbol 'GTK_TYPE_JUSTIFICATION'
panel: can't resolve symbol 'GTK_TYPE_GDK_CAP_STYLE'
panel: can't resolve symbol 'GTK_TYPE_GDK_JOIN_STYLE'
panel: can't resolve symbol 'GTK_TYPE_ANCHOR_TYPE'
panel: can't resolve symbol 'GTK_TYPE_GDK_FONT_TYPE'

I have gtk+ 1.0.5 and 1.1.1 installed.
