Couple of hang up's

Hi
I have E DR-14 installed and it's
working ok I think ( seems to be )
but if I end the session and come to log
in as another user esound
is busy.  I have a wee look with gtop
and find it's still running under the
former user name.  Seems that esound is
not quiting on exit from an x session
and is therefore no able to be used in
any following sessions.

I have installed WindowMaker 19xx on my
system from the tar files,
as is wmconf-0.99 I think the numbers is

I guess I should mention that I have
RedHat 5.1 installed from rpms

I'm finding that the jpg support is not
working and wmconf is hanging
and not seeing some of the file like the
png graphics that come with gnome
like the transparent ones.

Is there a way to take the error
messages and feed back that put on
screen
and copy it to a file or is there a file
that has that data in it that I might
copy
to my windows machine to cut related
bits out of. I know I can highlight and
retype the screen text with my left and
right mouse but I can't copy it to
anywhere.
