At one point I thought about making it easy for me to build Gnome on
many different platforms (we have one of everything here at Cygnus).
However, the thought of finding and building all the required
libraries quickly turned me off. Random Unices aren't like Linux
where many things are preinstalled and the others are available as
nice packages.
Having the source to all the dependencies easily available would have
helped out. Just the tar files on some ftp site would be good enough.
If it is already easily available, I must've missed it... send a
pointer.
This wouldn't really help new users. Well, depending on how new.
