Trouble with gnome apps.

Hi,

My system is a RH5.1 machine running 2.0.35, and gtk 1.1.2. I Upgraded as
many libs as I could but when running 'panel' I get the following error:

panel: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/lib/libgnomeui.so.0: undefined symbol: GTK_TYPE_GDK_COLOR 

Other gtk apps work fine if they don't touch the gnome libs, I don't know
whats going wrong. If anyone could mail me privately and help me out with
this problem, I will tell everyone they are a god. Seriously. Nobody on
irc.linpeople.org has been able to help, and it's driving me nuts - it's
gotta be something simple :)
