I get "sh: Warning:: command not found" and it's trying to execute:
started applet, exec: '(true; Warning: ridiculously long PATH truncated)'
Long it may be, but it's also required (one login which must work on 8
different platforms --- don't tell me about long PATHs)....
The applets aren't starting anyway, in my case. They start if I run them from
a shell, but not from the panel. This is after correcting $DISPLAY because
panel was using :0 and everything else was using :0.0. (Solaris, naturally.
sigh...)
