gnome-libs 0.30.1 compile problems.

I am having building gnome-libs from scratch. I have already successfully
installed the latest versions of gtk+, glib, ORBit, libxml, and Imlib.

However, when compiling gnome-libs, I get the following errors:

gcc -g -O2 -Wall -o .libs/gnome-dump-metadata gnome-dump.o -Wl,-rpath
-Wl,/usr/local/lib .libs/libgnome.so -Wl,-rpath -Wl,/usr/local/lib
../support/.libs/libgnomesupport.so -ldb -L/opt/gtk/lib -lglib -ldl
../intl/libintl.a -lm
.libs/libgnome.so: undefined reference to `g_message'
.libs/libgnome.so: undefined reference to `g_warning'
.libs/libgnome.so: undefined reference to `g_error'
make[2]: *** [gnome-dump-metadata] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/gnome-libs-0.30.1/libgnome'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/gnome-libs-0.30.1'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

exodus: /usr/src/gnome-libs-0.30.1 $

I assume that there is something I do not have installed or something is
not configured correctly. I am running SuSE Linux 5.3 with kernel 2.0.35.

Thanks,
