gmc and Gnome 3.0

I am new to this mail group, so this topic may have been covered.

I am using Enlightenment 0.15 and Gnome 3.0. I cannot get gmc to put any
files or folders on my desktop. When I move an object onto the desk top all
I get is a gray box, which disappears on the next mouse click. Any
suggestions? This is one of the main reasons that I want to use Gnome.
