That doesn't seem to work. When compiling other gnome apps, I get this
strange warning:
/usr/local/i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: warning: libglib-1.1.so.3, needed by
/opt/gnome//lib/libgnomeui.so, may conflict with libglib-1.1.so.4
