toolbar example

Anyone thought of writing an extra gnome-hello with toolbars included?
I really could do with an example that is not as complicated as ee or gedit or
something like that.
I've tried the gnome tips and tricks way, but i get this error when run
through gdb:
Program recieved signal SIDSEGV, segmentation fault.
0x403a1954 in _IO_str_init_static ()
any help apreciated, plus clues on how to decode this !
