For those of you who were thinking of doing a GNOME ICQ port, check out
this site:

It's a project for an open-source, multi platform chat system with central
database registries along similar lines as ICQ, but without AOL and
without the commercialism.  A GNOME front end for this certainly couldn't
hurt things.
