More specifically, the OpenDoc source code is supposed to be released
at some point. I don't know when or under what license terms.

More important - the stability of COM is at the whim of a single vendor
who has demonstrated the will and ethics to break competitors by that
technique.

One suggestion, and it would get a lot of us past this OLW2/OpenDoc
thing. Come up with a new name. It really sounds to me like you're
coming up with something new, anyway. It sounds like you're looking
at the best of OLE2, ActiveX, IronDoc, and hopefully OpenDoc as well,
and coming up with something that makes sense under Linux. Hopefully
it can be 'more than the sum of its parts', and evolve into something
better than any of its ancestors.

But I think the name thing is getting a few of us stuck. I think
you're really working toward something BETTER than OLE2 or ActiveX,
so a new name wouldn't hurt.
