Re: On menubars, toolbars, and everything.



My understanding is that this is really part of Windows CE, and was
done to eliminate some of the wasted vertical space on palmtops (and
reduce the number of GUI objects in the CE heirarchy).  I applaud
this, because I hate having toolbars wasting my vertical space.  I
turn them off when I am given the option.  Collapsing their function
into the menu bar (which is usually over half empty) is a good idea.
The tools are still a click away and don't waste too much space.

I've also been told that this was not Microsoft's own idea.
