shared library error

Applications from gnome-core linked dynamically against
libgnomeui.so.0.0.0 from gnome-libs produce the error

GnomeScott: error in loading shared libraries
/usr//lib/libgnomeui.so.0: undefined symbol: argp_program_version

I suppose there is a simple reason for this, but I can't find it ...
