Compiling problems... GtkDispatcher

I can't build the panel because when linking it cant find the
GtkDispatcher function.
Can anyone tell in which library is it ?
Also I had a few problems with the libz library, because when compiling
the gnome-libs, it couldnt find the uncompress and compress functions.
But that was fixed adding -L/usr/lib to the parameters. Strange, no ?
