gnome-session shutdown

Hello!

I have a question regarding the 'gnome-session' manager.  Is there a
way to close your gnome session w/o using the panel (clicking 'log
off' on the menu)?  I would like to use gnome in conjunction with
WindowMaker, but keep my dock and not use the panel.  But I need the
panel to log out of my gnome session. Is there any command line way of
accomplishing this?
