You need Gtk 1.1. What you should do:
- remove libgtk-dev
- compile Gtk 1.1 from CVS and put it in /usr/local or wherever
- rebuild *all* the Gnome stuff. make distclean or you could get
  weirdness.

Alternatively, you can wait a few days and someone will probably fix the
Gtk 1.1 dependency, then you can just use 1.0.2.
