I can't really tell what you mean here. I can't tell if you believe CORBA
is a good way of connecting with non-GNOME apps or a bad way. It's
definitely a good way, provided there is any reason to do so. In general
GNOME seems to be storing data for itself because the data it stores is
only relevant to itself, and I suspect that trend will continue quite a
long time.
