RE: GMC Network



I am afraid you are mistaken. They use WINS. When a computer is connected to
the network the windows box tells the WINS server its name and ip. The
windows box doesn't broadcast. And yes, people do use the Network
Neighborhood.

If you still don't believe me, check the samba smb.conf file. You will see a
line in there for WINS, ether to report itself to an existing WINS server,
or become a WINS server.
