Compiling Imlib-1.8.1

I am trying to compile imlib 1.8.1 with gtk 1.1.5 and glib 1.1.5.  I am
getting an error like so:

imlib_config.o: In function `add_onoff_visual':
/usr/local/src/gnome/imlib-1.8.1/utils/imlib_config.c:1256: undefined
reference to `gtk_clist_set_policy'

Any ideas on what the problem is?  I looked in the gtk include files for

a 'gtk_clist_set_policy', but could not find anything.  I really want to

get Gnome up and running!
