Whatever happened to the plan to use sound as this killer CORBA
demonstration?  Slide the volume control in the panel, watch the volume
slider in the mixer mysteriously follow along, etc?  Does it need some
sort of Publish&Subscribe or other event-based CORBA service, or could
it be done today?
