  No, you didn't miss anything in your ldconfig.. in the rpm's dir on
ftp.gnome.org, there was no gnome-core package included, so the one you
are trying to run on your system is still the one from 0.20.  You probably
installed all the libs that were provided, which overwrote the previous
libs that were needed by gnome.  This unfortunatly makes any apps from
gnome-core, including gnome-session, unusable.  All your other gnome apps
should work fine.  My suggestion - fire up gnomines or something and
patiently wait for gnome-core to appear in rpm format, or if you're really
desperate go compile it on your own =)
