i mentioned this at the conference, but it bears repeating here: i'm of
the opinion that configuration of any app (including the panel) should
be kept unified under one menu choice or dialog box, so all
configuration can be done from one place. in the gnome 0.20 snapshot
this is done correctly in the panel: configuration takes place from the
"panel" submenu in the main gnomeprint menu.
the reason i believe this is that spreading the configuration options
across the face of the whole program (like in the menus themselves)
clutters the interface and confuses users who may not understand that
those buttons are to configure the panel, since they aren't listed in a
global configuration "area" (dialog or what have you).
the only improvement i can think of to the way the panel is configured
in gnome 0.20 is to make the same configuration options selectable from
the gnomeprint->panel menu as right-clicking the panel itself and vice
versa.
however, i'm a non-coder and not the author of the panel so this opinion
can be discarded as george sees fit... :)
