Strange run-time error

Finally I got gnome to compile and now I get these strange error messages when
runnung any gnome app.

I get this, when running gnome-session for every image it wants to load:
Is PNG
Native PNG Loader
libpng error: Incompatible libpng version in application and library
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Failed! Fallback!
Convert Loader via Image Magick
convert: Incompatible libpng version in application and library.
convert: Memory allocation failed
(/usr/local/share/pixmaps/gnome-cromagnon.png).
convert: Missing an image file name [No such file or directory].
Failed! Fallback To NetPBM!
/usr/bin/anytopnm: unknown file type
ImLib ERROR: Cannot load image: /usr/local/share/pixmaps/gnome-cromagnon.png
All fallbacks failed.
panel: error in loading shared libraries
: undefined symbol: gdk_imlib_get_visual

and this when running same-gnome:
same-gnome: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/local/lib/libgnomeui.so.0: undefined symbol: gdk_imlib_get_visual

I compiled today's cvs vesion, but I suspect, it has something to do with imlib
and libpng. These are my installed libs:
Imlib 1.3
libpng 1.0.1 (shared lib 2.1)
zlib 1.1.2

System: Redhat 5.0 on Linux PC

And yes, I ran ldconfig. Any ideas what I am missing?
