Dependencies

Whenever I build gnome-core, it never seems to realise that the
applets and panel have been built before.  I end up (slowly) building
all again.  Is this something anyone else is seeing?  I'm running:

FreeBSD 2.2.6
gmake 3.76.1
autoconf 2.12
automake 1.2f

Nat
(getting closer and closer to the mythical successful build and
install of gnome-core ...)
