gnome-keyring 3.4.0 ftbfs - circular dep?

Attempting to build gnome-keyring 3.4.0 yields this:

  checking for GCK... no
  configure: error: Package requirements (gck-1 >= 3.3.4) were not met:
  
  Requested 'gck-1 >= 3.3.4' but version of gck-1 is 3.2.2
  
  Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
  installed software in a non-standard prefix.
  
  Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GCK_CFLAGS
  and GCK_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.

Apparently it depends on having itself installed.  Suggestions?  :)
