gnome-keyring -ask vs DISPLAY

How is gnome-keyring-ask supposed to know about the display to use in 2.25.x ?
In 2.24, gnome-keyring-wrapper used to inject this variable into the
gnome-keyring-daemon that was run from pam. In 2.25.x, the wrapper was
removed, but I don't see any other mechanism in place, and as a
consequence, I don't get a passphrase dialog when using ssh. I do get
the dialog when manually starting the keyring daemon in the session.

Any hints ?
