Hey,
So I managed to push two release tags to git that were wrong (because I
hadn't rebased the gnome-2-26 branch, only master). And it happens that
we can't remove tags.
According to http://live.gnome.org/Git/Help/TagUpdates:
"To be useful as such, the tag should be immutable, otherwise what now
is tagged as the "1.24.0" release in the Pango repository may point to a
totally different tree at a later date. For these reasons, deleting and
updating tags are disallowed in GNOME git repositories."
FWIW, this wasn't the case with svn.
Is it technically possible to allow removing a tag only for a short
period of time after it was created? It would make it possible to fix
really stupid mistakes...
Thanks,
Vincent
