Summary: Skype is UNINSTALLED by "Computer Janitor"
Product: sysadmin
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: Other
AssignedTo: sysadmin-maint gnome bugs
ReportedBy: ravi ravigehlot net
QAContact: sysadmin-maint gnome bugs
GNOME version: Unspecified
GNOME milestone: Unspecified
Please describe the problem:
I installed Skype using the .deb package downloaded from the Skype website. But
when I ran "Computer Janitor" 3 weeks later, it completely removed Skype. As
far as my understanding goes, "Computer Janitor" is suppose to work like the
"Windows Clean-up" utility in Windows where only the unnecessary is removed and
not the programs.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Skype from www.skype.com
2. Run Computer Janitor from step 3
3. gksu --desktop /usr/share/applications/computer-janitor-gtk.desktop
computer-janitor-gtk
Actual results:
Skype is uninstalled.
Expected results:
Skype is uninstalled.
Does this happen every time?
Only tested once. I will let you guys test it a 2nd time.
Other information:
Name: Computer Janitor
Command: gksu --desktop /usr/share/applications/computer-janitor-gtk.desktop
computer-janitor-gtk
Comment: Clean up a system so it's more like a freshly installed one
