I don't see CACert being accepted in near future.

I think, GoDaddy is the right way to go.

I use StartSSL for myself (CACert is not in Fedoras trusted root CAs 
yet) and I am satisfied with their service. But GoDaddy is not only in 
mozillas NSS but in IExplorer as well.
