That would only be slightly better than a self-signed certificate. The
cacert.org root certificate is unfortunately not included by default
in most major browsers.
I'm not aware of any other way than using a commercial certificate, if
you want SSL encrypted web sites ready to use out of the box for the
client, without scary certificate warnings.
