[GNOME-India] About the presence of GNOME India during GNU/Linux Asia 2004

hi alolita and mayank,

given the buzz around GNU/Linux Asia 2004 it is expected to draw a
fair amount of crowd - this is one thing we are sure of. you will be
aware of the fact that GNOME India has been formally setup ('formal'
as in the sense of a mailing list and a proposed website) as a
regional list of the GNOME Marketing Team. the stated aims are
advocacy and chit-chat while it explicitly deals with showcasing the
technology around GNOME.

the members of the GNOME India list believe that GNU/Linux Asia 2004
forms the perfect platform to make a splash. i think that The HUB
would be the best place to get a 'GNOME booth' in place. this is a
regular feature of events worldwide and draws a sizeable audience.
the GNOME India list has members from organisations like Novell,
Wipro, Dell, Ximian etc who are competent and capable of providing
demos and what-have-you. the members would perhaps also like to put
in public the various L10n efforts.

thus it would be best if you could respond to the following queries
::

[1] what are the expenses involved in setting up a GNOME Booth at The
Hub ?

[2] is it possible to get at least 3 talk/demonstration slots
dedicated to GNOME ?

[3] what facilities could be expected from a presence at The Hub ?

[4] how soon does the committee require a confirmation of attendance
?

in light of the answers the members would request corporate
sponsorships/assistance. while the above [4] do form the crux of the
query, a few more (which i might have missed in this preliminary
mail) are expected to crop up soonest, do also clarify those.

looking forward to an early reply
warm regards

sankarshan
